Automation Specialist

As an Automation Technician at Jabil, you will play a critical role in planning, mapping, and performing assembly of complex electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic robotic and equipment from verbal and written instructions. Your expertise will be utilized to layout mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical schematics, ensuring seamless integration of automation systems.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic troubleshooting activities on assembly automation equipment to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Make mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic repairs to assembly automation equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Conduct equipment failure analysis, repairs, and scheduled preventative maintenance on robotic and automated equipment to ensure reliability and efficiency.
- Set up manual and semi-automatic assembly lines and assist in operating pre-production runs to meet production demands.
- Assist in installing new automated equipment and relocating existing equipment to new locations, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.
- Create new robot programs and edit existing programs to optimize automation processes and improve efficiency.
- Update manuals and programs for automated equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all activities performed on each piece of equipment, providing valuable insights for process improvements.
- Collaborate with engineering staff to identify areas for machine improvements, contributing to the development of innovative automation solutions.
- Support all company safety and quality programs and initiatives, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
- Ability to apply advanced trades mathematics and utilize complex drawings, specifications, and charts to perform tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy and precision in measurements.
- Ability to program and troubleshoot PLC (programmable logic controllers) and ladder logic to optimize automation processes.
- Strong understanding of electrical drawings and schematics to ensure seamless integration of automation systems.
