Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide professional nursing care to patients, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care that reflect assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient outcomes.
  • Ensure patient safety by utilizing the five rights of medication administration, preventing falls, and preventing nosocomial infections.
  • Provide optimal pain control and patient comfort, identifying and discussing patient anxieties, fears, or concerns regarding their condition, treatment, or discharge.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in problem identification and resolution, prioritizing tasks and delegating responsibilities as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and functional work environment, adhering to regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • 6 months recent experience in ED or Critical Care, or successful completion of a KP ED training program or approved equivalent within prior 12 months.
  • Registered Nurse License (California)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • Basic Life Support
Preferred Qualifications
  • Spanish/Mandarin fluency
Work Environment

This is a per diem position, working night shifts, with a flexible schedule. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
