Patient Access Representative Lead

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, actively performs up to two of the following responsibilities:
- Coordinates the daily activities of subordinate personnel and the services they provide related to pre-admission testing, outpatient, same day surgery, emergency room, immediate care, inpatient, observation, and corporate health registrations, discharges, and admissions.
- Monitors and ensures the accurate and timely input of patient, insurance, and clinical information into the appropriate admissions system.
- Ensures department standards are met and excellent customer service is provided.
- Provides assistance to staff in resolving issues with procedures, equipment, employees, physicians, and/or patients.
- Performs the duties of a patient service representative.
- Leadership and Coordination
- Coordinates the daily activities of subordinate personnel.
- Ensures department standards are met.
- Data Management
- Monitors and ensures the accurate and timely input of patient, insurance, and clinical information.
- Customer Service
- Provides excellent customer service.
- Problem Resolution
- Provides assistance to staff in resolving issues.
- Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED.
- Proficiency with computer programs.
- Preferred Education and Experience
- Associate degree in business or healthcare.
- Minimum two years of revenue cycle experience or minimum three years of patient access experience.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, legal, and technical aspects of patient access and third-party insurances.
- License and Certification
- A valid driver's license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off-site location.
