Founded in 2003, Mount Prospect Academy (MPA) is a dynamic alliance of nonprofit organizations committed to assisting struggling adolescents in discovering their potential and achieving success in life. MPA offers a wide range of mental health services tailored to meet the needs of diverse populations, including residential treatment programs, group homes, and educational support.

Mission:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and mentor students, modeling appropriate behavior and managing crises effectively.
  • Implement social and recreational activities that engage residents as part of their development.
  • Provide care and psychosocial education according to individual treatment plans.
  • Deliver direct services, including daily living skills, meal preparation, hygiene practices, and recreational activities.
  • Enhance students' social skills, interpersonal skills, and coping mechanisms through positive relationships.
  • Act as a supportive role model to foster trust and growth.
  • Assist students in developing respectful communication skills and understanding authority.
  • Provide emotional support during crises and help students discover effective coping strategies.

Qualifications:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree or 60 college credits.
  • OR two years of full-time experience working with children.
  • OR a combination of relevant education and experience totaling two years.
  • OR seven years of parenting experience.

Additional Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license preferred and must be 21 years or older.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of background checks and pre-employment requirements.
