About the Role

The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Airport Facilities Custodian to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of airport buildings, terminals, and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of airport buildings, including concourses, lavatories, offices, and storage rooms.
  • Perform routine custodial tasks, such as emptying trash and recycling, washing interior and exterior windows, and vacuuming and shampooing floors.
  • Use and maintain various cleaning and maintenance equipment, including buffers, auto scrubbers, and high-speed buffers.
  • Identify and report maintenance and repairs throughout assigned areas.
  • Participate in snow removal and other seasonal tasks as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; three years of full-time custodial experience in a commercial building environment may be substituted for the high school diploma.
  • Valid driver's license required at time of application.
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, crouch down, stoop, crawl, twist, and climb.
  • Ability to perform light to strenuous physical/manual labor.
  • Ability to use safe lifting techniques to routinely lift/carry/push/pull 25-pound objects and occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions

This is a safety-sensitive position, and you will be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing. Marijuana is one of the substances included in the drug panel screening. Possession of a medical marijuana license will not excuse you from the testing process, or the consequences of testing positive for marijuana.
