Aluminum Casting Operator

Job Summary:

Ellwood Aluminum is seeking a skilled Aluminum Casting Operator to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our casting process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the casting area for production, ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
  • Begin and maintain the cast, monitoring temperature and quality control.
  • Collect metal samples during casting and deliver them for quality testing.
  • Remove, replace, and set up drain pans for continuous operation.
  • Operate remote control crane as required.
  • Perform minor repairs and cleaning of hardware.
  • Service troughing, molds, and additional equipment as necessary.
  • Complete reports and logs as necessary.
  • Notify the control room operator and/or general manager of any shortages in consumables.
  • Notify the control room operator and/or general manager of any potential concerns or issues in production.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend and stand for extended periods of time, and withstand exposure to heat and cold.
  • Able to climb in overhead structures, work beneath machines, and in close quarters.
  • Willingness to work all shifts, flexible hours, and mandatory overtime.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred, but not required.

  • Competitive hourly wages starting between $17.50 to $23.00 per hour, based on experience.
  • $2.00/hour shift differential.
