Position Overview:

In this pivotal role, you will be entrusted with the backend development of Highway's innovative products, reporting directly to the Chief Development Officer. Your contributions will be vital in maintaining the trust that freight brokers place in our solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement backend solutions tailored for Highway's needs.
  • Collaborate with team members to build and sustain the Ruby on Rails backend codebase.
  • Regularly monitor the backend applications and associated AWS infrastructure in collaboration with your team.
  • Engage effectively with fellow developers to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Participate in daily stand-up meetings to discuss progress and challenges.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to best practices.
  • Utilize JIRA for managing project and task progress efficiently.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining backend solutions using Ruby on Rails.
  • Able to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate across various teams.
