Job Summary

The City of Olathe is seeking an outgoing and energetic individual to join our dynamic team at the Olathe Community Center. As a Recreation Leader II, you will support a diverse range of programs and work environments, helping adults and children with special needs enjoy various recreational activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in coaching specialized adult sports for individuals with special needs, catering to a wide range of ability levels; provide support on trips and tours for adults and teens; perform varied tasks under indirect supervision.
  • Effectively communicate with participants, colleagues, and supervisors; demonstrate exceptional customer service; adhere to all City policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate commitment to delivering excellent service, integrity, accountability, and a welcoming attitude when supporting recreation activities for people with disabilities; engage with groups and offer extensive support during program activities.
Qualifications and Requirements

We are looking for candidates with:

  • At least two years of experience working in the recreation industry or a relevant field; must be 18 years of age or older.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent as the minimum educational requirement.
  • No specific licenses or certifications required.
Compensation and Benefits
