Job Title: Donation Assistant/Driver

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Donation Assistant/Driver. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting our Food Pantry and Doing the Most Good Market programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pick up donations from designated businesses and transport them to our Service Center.
  • Weigh and record donations accurately, ensuring that all items are properly categorized and stored.
  • Sort, stock, and rotate donations to ensure that the oldest items are distributed first.
  • Inspect perishable items regularly and dispose of any expired or spoiled items.
  • Complete daily paperwork and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with Food Bank deliveries, including ordering, receiving, and storing items.
  • Coordinate and make deliveries to other pantries as requested.
  • Manage the maintenance of our agency van, including fueling, cleaning, and scheduling routine maintenance.
  • Keep all distribution areas clean, disinfected, and organized.
  • Assist with Food Pantry and Doing the Most Good Market orders, including prepping, packaging, and delivering items as needed.
  • Train and assist Food Pantry volunteers.
  • Support Christmas programs as requested.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
