Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Personal Care Assistant Leader to join our team at The Arc Eastern Connecticut. As a Home Support Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting individuals with developmental and physical disabilities in achieving their goals and living independently.

About the Position

You will work directly with participants to facilitate their daily lives, provide personal care, and encourage community involvement. You will also be responsible for accompanying individuals on outings, providing transportation, and supporting therapeutic and behavioral plans.

Responsibilities
  • Assist participants with daily activities, such as meal preparation and planning
  • Provide personal care and support with daily routines
  • Facilitate community involvement by accompanying individuals on outings in the community
  • Support therapeutic and behavioral plans, as developed by participants and their teams
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with developmental and physical disabilities
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
