Director of Government and Community Relations

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Government and Community Relations to join our team at Sound Transit. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective government and community relations strategies to advance our mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive government and community relations strategy to build relationships with elected officials, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
- Provide strategic advice to our CEO and senior leadership team on government and community relations matters.
- Manage a team of government and community relations staff to implement our strategy and achieve our goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including elected officials, community leaders, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies to engage with our stakeholders and promote our mission and goals.
- Monitor and analyze policy and political issues relevant to our region and provide recommendations to our leadership team.
- Collaborate with other departments and agencies to advance our mission and goals.
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Affairs, Public Administration, or closely related field.
- Eight years of experience working in a political or legislative environment, including responsibility for public policy, communications, or serving as a policy advisor.
- Strong knowledge of local, regional, and state policy issues, as well as the political and policy arena of the central Puget Sound region.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
