Position Overview:

The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) plays a crucial role in delivering both urgent and non-urgent pre-hospital care to patients.

The AEMT is tasked with adhering to established policies, procedures, and medical protocols while operating within their training scope. This role requires the use of professional judgment and discretion, ensuring compliance with state regulations and facility guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency service requests as dispatched, providing effective care to patients in need.
  • Conduct assessments in accordance with training and medical protocols to determine appropriate treatment and transport methods.
  • Safely operate the ambulance, adhering to traffic laws and ensuring the safety of all occupants and the public.
  • Complete all necessary documentation, including patient care reports and daily checklists, in line with established practices and regulations.
  • Follow all relevant policies, procedures, and safety protocols to maintain a secure and efficient work environment.
  • Collaborate with higher-trained personnel to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, families, bystanders, and other emergency response personnel.
  • Support community service initiatives and relationship-building activities as directed by leadership.
Qualifications:

Licensure and Certification Requirements:

  • Certification as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician in the relevant state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Completion of NIMS 700, 800, ICS 100, and 200 within a specified timeframe.
