Position Summary:

The Retail Cashier plays a vital role in ensuring customer satisfaction by efficiently handling monetary transactions and providing support throughout the store.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome customers as they enter the store.
  • Accurately operate the cash register using various input methods.
  • Process payments in cash, checks, or credit/debit cards for purchases.
  • Assist customers in finding products and answering inquiries regarding items and pricing.
  • Maintain organized work areas, including transaction records.
  • Ensure accuracy in transactions by balancing the cash register at the start and end of shifts.
  • Handle returns and exchanges in accordance with store policies.
  • Address customer complaints and escalate issues to management when necessary.
  • Support inventory management by stocking and organizing products on shelves.
  • Participate in all store meetings and training sessions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong customer service abilities.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in operating cash registers and related equipment.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and refunds.
  • Familiarity with company products and customer service policies.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Completion of on-the-job training, including positional training levels.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods while operating the cash register.
  • Capable of lifting up to 30 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 80 pounds.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks over long durations.
