Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant/Nail Technician will provide exceptional patient care and support services in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role requires a unique blend of medical and nail care skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist medical and nursing staff with patient care duties, including vital signs, medication administration, and specimen collection.
  • Provide nail care services, including nail hygiene, cleaning, trimming, cutting, and filing, while maintaining strict sanitation and infection prevention protocols.
  • Maintain patient environments, ensuring patient privacy and safety, and adhering to universal precautions.
  • Educate patients on routine foot care, as directed by physicians, including those with high-risk diagnoses.
  • Assist with minor procedures, stock and close rooms, remove splints and casts, and prep unsterile instruments for sterilization.

Requirements:

  • Certificate in Technical or Vocational Cosmetology and High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days and Cosmetologist License in Illinois upon hire.
  • Medical terminology course and ability to learn and retain patient care procedures.
