Position Overview:
The role of the Project Inspector involves providing thorough inspection and oversight of daily operations on pipeline, facility, tank, and other related projects. This position requires minimal supervision and serves as a critical interface with our contract workforce, ensuring compliance with company standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enforce adherence to the Safety Awareness Manual and Life Safety Rules.
- Identify and address potential hazards before work commences.
- Accurately complete documentation within set timelines, ensuring all project records are comprehensive and properly submitted.
- Verify that tools are maintained in optimal working condition and calibrated as necessary.
- Inspect materials for compliance with Colonial's specifications and engineering standards prior to use.
- Engage with project stakeholders to communicate concerns, issues, and updates in a timely and organized manner.
- Maintain HAZWOPER and ICS training certifications and respond to incidents as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Preferred 3+ years of experience as an Inspector or in a similar role within the oil and gas sector.
- Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong understanding of government regulations and industry standards related to pipelines, tanks, and terminals.
- Demonstrated commitment to company policies and procedures, embodying core values of Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Safety, and Excellence.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, seeking a supportive environment for professional growth.
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as an inspector.
- 24 Hour HAZWOPER and OSHA 30 certifications.
- Excavation Competent Person training and certification.
- Certifications in CPWI, API, AMPP/NACE, and/or PMI.
