Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse III to join our team at the Health and Human Services Commission. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide advanced vocational nursing care to individuals residing at our State Supported Living Center.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide care, treatment, and general welfare to individuals with complex medical, mental health, and/or behavioral health issues.
  • Perform basic and advanced routine and non-routine nursing tasks to promote the health of individuals within assigned areas and shifts.
  • Collect specimens for lab work and perform health screenings.
  • Instruct direct support professionals and other staff on how to provide service and care that support individual medical needs.
  • Perform technical nursing procedures according to facility and state regulations.
  • Keep informed of and follow all agency, SSLC, and unit/home policies and procedures.
  • Provide direction and assist with on-the-job training to others, including newly hired LVNs and direct care staff.
  • Evaluate nursing intervention outcomes and provide input to other members of the healthcare team.
Requirements

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of Texas. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a healthcare setting and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
