About the Role
The Portfolio Manager will support the Middle Market Commercial Banking team, providing critical support and oversight of client relationships and financial analysis. In this role, you will:
Manage an assigned portfolio of commercial customers, working closely with relationship managers to ensure seamless client interactions.
Provide support and oversight of reporting for portfolio management, including delinquency, problem loans, and exceptions.
Coordinate the collection and review of financial statements, tax returns, and covenant compliance certificates to ensure compliance with customer reporting requirements.
Monitor assigned portfolios for early warning signs of financial weakness or other risks, working with borrowers to develop and execute plans to mitigate risk.
Prepare credit packages for annual reviews, renewals, loan requests, and portfolio reviews.
Structure and underwrite complex commercial loan transactions, providing credit recommendations to the appropriate level of credit administration.
Review and negotiate loan documentation, ensuring renewals and modifications are properly closed.
Serve as a contact for internal audits, loan review, compliance reviews, and regulatory exams.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a business, finance, or economics major.
6+ years of financial services industry experience, with a working knowledge of banking environment, products, and processes.
Formal bank credit training is preferred, with a strong understanding of general credit and risk principles.
Thorough understanding of risks, including market, rate, leverage, and other lending process risks.
Understanding of commercial lending policies and procedures, including loan agreement, loan structuring, and collateral procedures.
Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and financial forecast models.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to proactively manage and prioritize workflow.
Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to establish client relationships and work within a team environment.
