POSITION SUMMARY:


The Floor Care Specialist is tasked with executing specialized project assignments that encompass floor maintenance and care, alongside other meticulous cleaning duties, including pressure washing.

The main objective of this role is to deliver expert knowledge in floor upkeep while ensuring that every task is accomplished to the utmost standards.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the highest quality of floor cleaning across all hard and soft surfaces, which includes tasks such as operating ride-on scrubbers for concourses, walk-behind scrubbers for clubs, carpet extraction, spot cleaning, stripping and waxing, buffing, and grout cleaning.
  • Exhibit safe and correct usage of equipment and various floor care techniques.
  • Thoroughly clean corners and edges in all areas where work is performed.
  • Maintain cleanliness in stairwells and elevators, including tracks and cabs.
  • Physically carry out all floor care tasks in line with company policies and/or manufacturer's maintenance guidelines.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as required.
  • Keep equipment clean and ensure it operates effectively.
  • Timely report any worn or damaged equipment to the supervisor.
  • Manage keys, combinations, and equipment or asset control.
  • Secure the premises upon completion of work.
  • Assist in fostering and maintaining positive relationships with patrons.
  • Address customer feedback and complaints.
  • Maintain constructive working relationships with service contractors and suppliers associated with the organization.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in floor care is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently when necessary to support team efforts.
  • Physical capability to perform the general tasks outlined in this posting.
  • Ability to interact appropriately with both customers and colleagues.
  • Priority will be given to qualified residents of the Promise Zone.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Balancing:
Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falls. Mobility and flexibility, including the ability to climb ladders.

Stooping:
Bending the body downward and forward at the waist.

Kneeling:
Bending legs at the knee to rest on one or both knees.

Crouching:
Bending the body downward and forward by bending the legs and spine.

Reaching:
Extending hands and arms in any direction.

Standing:
Remaining upright on feet, especially for extended periods.

Walking:
Moving about on foot to complete tasks or transition between work sites.

  • Ability to lift and push up to 60 pounds.
  • Must be able to read and write in English.

HEARING:

The ability to listen to and comprehend information and ideas presented in English, both in person and over the phone, is required.


SPEAKING:

The ability to communicate effectively in English, both in person and over the phone, is required.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position involves both indoor and outdoor work. The employee may encounter various environmental conditions while performing tasks, including exposure to heat, extreme cold, rain, snow, wind, and humidity.
  • The employee will work with a range of cleaning chemicals.
  • The employee is required to operate power equipment, including floor machines, buffers, and other power tools.
  • Work schedules may vary.
  • Availability for early morning, mid-morning, afternoon, evening hours, as well as weekends and holidays, may be necessary.
