About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technician - Paramedic to join our team at DispatchHealth Management. As a Medical Technician - Paramedic, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in the comfort of patients' homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with physical exams, point-of-care testing, and treatments as directed by a virtual healthcare provider.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Drive DispatchHealth vehicles to meet patients at their location of need and transport equipment and supplies.
  • Don and doff personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately and maintain strict infection prevention strategies.
  • Perform vital sign measurements, collect patient data, and facilitate physical exams using mobile devices.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests and treatments as requested by the virtual provider, including blood draws, EKGs, splints, and basic wound care.
  • Prepare discharge instructions in conjunction with the virtual provider and ensure patients understand their care plan.
  • Responsible for equipment use, care, and allocation, as well as restocking and cleaning equipment at the end of each shift.
Requirements
  • Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic certification (EMT-P) in good standing.
  • Minimum one year of patient-facing experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • BLS, American Heart Association certification.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs easily while carrying equipment.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and technological skills.
  • Previous experience with comprehensive history gathering and documentation within an electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Previous experience with basic procedural skills.
  • Cultural competency and ability to interact with patients and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team to deliver care with flexibility and open-mindedness.
  • Continuous learner with strong critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
