Position Details

The Department of Pathology at the University of Utah is actively seeking two qualified pathologists specializing in pediatric pathology. These roles are essential to accommodate the recent expansion and the establishment of a new hospital campus, as well as to address upcoming retirements within this well-established team.

Candidates are required to hold certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology from the American Board of Pathology or an equivalent body, and must be eligible for certification in Pediatric Pathology. Additionally, candidates must qualify for medical licensure in Utah. Compensation and academic rank will be determined based on the candidate's training and experience.


Division Overview

The Pediatric Pathology Division is situated at Primary Children's Hospital, which is affiliated with the University of Utah. This facility, managed by Intermountain Healthcare, serves a five-state region in the Intermountain West and encompasses a 332-bed hospital along with a newly opened 66-bed facility.

The division currently comprises eight pediatric pathologists and offers a fellowship training program. There are ample opportunities for mentorship and development in specialized areas such as oncologic pathology, gastrointestinal pathology, neuropathology, perinatal/autopsy pathology, and laboratory/transfusion medicine.
