WORK SCHEDULE - OVERNIGHT HOURS VARY

As a Floor Maintenance Specialist, you will play a vital role in enhancing the operational efficiency of our client locations by executing comprehensive floor care for both hard and carpeted surfaces. Your responsibilities will include stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extracting, and bonneting floors. You will ensure that the flooring in offices, classrooms, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells, cafeterias, and other communal areas is well-maintained and safe for all users.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform routine floor care tasks such as mopping (both dry and damp), buffing, and burnishing on solid surfaces and stairwells.
  • Conduct vacuuming, shampooing, bonneting, and extraction of carpets, stairwells, and upholstery.
  • Wet and damp mop floors in all areas, including restrooms.
  • Strip and recoat flooring as required and scheduled.
  • Relocate furniture to ensure thorough cleaning of all floor areas.
  • Utilize and maintain specialized cleaning equipment.
  • Plan and manage your work schedule to accomplish daily tasks efficiently.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Engage in wall cleaning and dusting at various heights.
  • Handle various cleaning chemicals and solvents, ensuring compliance with regulations such as OSHA and EPA.
  • Promptly report any maintenance issues to your supervisor.
  • Monitor the area for spills and hazards to maintain a safe environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor, including light maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capability to build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and the public.
  • Previous experience in floor care is highly desirable.
  • Experience with solid surface floor care is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • A valid Florida Driver's license is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • This role requires good physical and mental health.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull, and move continuously throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry weights ranging from 40 to 75 pounds regularly.
SUPERVISION
  • General supervision is provided by a supervisor who will assist with complex issues and review completed work for quality assurance. The role allows for independent judgment in task execution.
