The Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of our production facility during the second shift. This position involves the maintenance and repair of all production machinery to ensure optimal performance and precision.
Key Responsibilities:- Troubleshoot and repair various machine tools, assembly lines, and testing equipment. This includes modifying and maintaining machinery such as motors, pumps, conveyors, and fans.
- Conduct thorough examinations of mechanical equipment to identify issues and anticipate potential failures. Disassemble machines for repairs or part replacements, adjusting components as necessary.
- Diagnose electrical issues within machine circuitry, adhering to established safety protocols throughout all tasks.
- Utilize technical resources such as handbooks, blueprints, and schematics to maintain and repair mechanical devices effectively.
- Keep detailed maintenance records and ensure that machine documentation is up to date.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while performing additional duties as assigned.
- Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance quality, efficiency, and production standards.
- Shift Schedule: Second Shift, with hours from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday, including potential overtime and Saturday shifts as required.
- Training Schedule: Initial training will occur on the first shift for approximately six weeks.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in equipment maintenance within a manufacturing setting.
- At least 3 years of experience with machine drive systems, precision spindles, and fluid systems.
- Proven track record of troubleshooting and analyzing equipment failures for a minimum of 3 years.
- Experience in the repair of production equipment with relevant controls for at least 3 years.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and hand tool usage for a minimum of 3 years.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, etc.) for at least 2 years.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Experience in machine shops and shop floor operations.
- Knowledge of PLCs and control systems.
- Hands-on experience with various production machinery, including lathes and milling machines.
- Skills in plumbing, mechanical, and electrical repairs.
- Ability to interpret schematics effectively.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet production demands.
- Commitment to maintaining up-to-date skills and knowledge.
- Capability to utilize current business systems for job-related tasks.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and solve problems.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Journeyman machinist certification is a plus.
