Job Summary

This position is part of the Office of Environmental Management - Carlsbad Field Office, Department of Energy. As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, integrating, budgeting, and executing mission scope.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop contract specifications and review contractor-performed work related to design, engineering, operation, maintenance, construction, and repair of assigned facilities, buildings, grounds, utilities, and equipment.
  • Lead development of goals, objectives, and strategic plans, which define the long-term emphasis and focus of the program.
  • Evaluate contractor performance and overall program effectiveness in terms of mission accomplishment, schedule and budget, quality, quantity, and environment, safety, and health standards, procedural, policy, and regulatory compliance, and technical competence.
  • Direct studies, surveillances, assessments, and validations to identify trends and develop forecasts of directions in the program within and outside the agency.

Requirements

A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-14 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following:
Monitoring contractor performance. Determining program needs and managing resources. Overseeing budget and schedule execution.
