Position Overview:

The Member Services Associate role is essential in branches that handle cash operations. Under general supervision, this position encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities related to processing member transactions. Key duties include receiving and distributing funds, posting deposits and loan payments, facilitating account transfers, issuing money orders, and processing cash advances. The Associate is also trained to provide plastic card services, such as issuing temporary cards and managing card re-pins. Maintaining accurate records of various transactions and balancing a daily cash drawer are critical components of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute various Member Services tasks, including receiving and disbursing funds, processing deposits and loan payments, and managing account withdrawals.
  • Open and maintain savings, checking, and certificate of deposit accounts as necessary.
  • Handle plastic card services, including issuing temporary cards and re-pinning existing cards.
  • Conduct account maintenance tasks, such as updating addresses and processing name changes.
  • Recommend additional products and services to members based on their needs during transactions.
  • Complete all required compliance training and participate in ongoing training initiatives.
  • Balance cash drawer accurately and efficiently.
  • Engage in continuous improvement efforts to enhance service delivery.
  • Represent the Credit Union professionally and positively.
  • Maintain confidentiality of member and sensitive information.
  • Foster a respectful environment for both members and colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience in branch operations.
  • Understanding of BSA and other pertinent regulations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of deposit account products and services.
  • Basic understanding of applicable Federal, State, and NCUA regulations.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions effectively.
  • Basic math skills for cash handling and interest computation.
  • Proficiency in operating office equipment, including copiers and PCs.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Successful completion of all compliance-related training.
  • NMLS Registration is preferred.

Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
