Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Food and Beverage Attendant to join our team at the Coast Guard Community Services Command. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the operations of MWR Food and Beverage businesses, creating an attractive and friendly environment, and maintaining product quality, cleanliness, and inventory.
  • Perform front-end duties, including welcoming customers, maintaining product knowledge, and assisting with selection of products available.
  • Operate Point of Sale register, collect cash, credit cards, and reconcile cash drawer at end of shift.
  • Prepare, package, and serve made-to-order beverages, snacks, and easily assembled or prepared food items.
  • Set up food service counters and side service stands with hot and cold food and beverages, including desserts and condiments.
  • Assist customers in the selection and purchase of various food and beverage items.
  • Prepare and provide quality food and beverage products consistent with established recipe and presentation standards.
  • May be required to serve food and beverages for buffet-style or catered events.
  • Properly clean equipment, perform simple preventative maintenance, and maintain customer service area in a clean and appealing manner.
  • Follow store policies and procedures for operational flow, established standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating, and storing all products, and maintain awareness pertaining to inventory waste or shrink.
Requirements
  • Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory.
  • Possess basic food preparation and handling techniques.
  • Possess knowledge of basic sanitation principles.
  • Possess the capability to lift and move objects up to 20 pounds and frequently walk, bend, stoop, pull, push, and reach.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand written material, follow instructions.
  • Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate and/or complete Food Handler's Training within 30 days of appointment.
  • Customer service experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One-year or more experience in food service or related industry.
  • Possess Food Handlers Certificate.
