About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Sustainment Systems Engineer to join our team at Modern Technology Solutions Inc. (MTSI). As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting sustainment activities for a diverse portfolio of strategic and tactical MILSATCOM space systems and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide systems engineering and integration expertise in support of legacy space constellations, including Milstar, Advanced Enhanced High Frequency (AEHF), and Enhanced Polar System (EPS), as well as associated ground infrastructure, warfighter terminals, and software applications.
  • Support waiver, deviation, and deficiency reviews, system allocations, and compliance assessments.
  • Conduct system/enterprise-level engineering analysis to identify sustainment problem areas, provide impact analysis, forecast potential failures, and present options to mitigate these problems.
  • Support formulation of relevant information of sustainment objectives and perform engineering analysis and system-level assessments for decision support at various meetings and sustainment forums.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience working with military or DoD civilian clients and managing professional relationships.
  • 4+ years of experience working in a highly competitive multi-contractor environment.
  • 5+ years of experience in architecture/requirements definition/analysis, acquisitions, engineering/design, fielding/integration, and verification or analysis.
  • 4+ years of relevant systems engineering experience.
  • 4+ years of relevant systems integration experience.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience engaging government customers to advance projects and initiatives at varying degrees of complexity through engineering management.
Desired Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in a DoD program office with understanding of DoD acquisition processes and compliance with government instructions.
  • 6+ years of experience working with strategic & tactical MILSATCOM space systems (spacecraft, uplinks/downlinks, command & control, networks, and/or user communities).
  • Knowledge of Digital Engineering (DE) or Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) applications.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development processes and applications.
What We Offer

MTSI offers a competitive salary range of $160,000/year to $180,000/year, depending on experience and qualifications. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, financial, and other benefits. U.S. Citizenship is required for this position, and an active DoD Secret clearance is required to start.
