  • As a Procurement Excellence Specialist at American Airlines, you will play a pivotal role in revolutionizing our procurement functions. This position requires a forward-thinking individual with a solid background in procure-to-pay processes, ideally with expertise in Coupa and cutting-edge technologies throughout our source-to-pay operations.
  • This position is part of the Procurement Strategy team within our Finance division.
Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct procurement initiatives, ensuring timely delivery within the defined scope and budget.
  • Formulate and execute data analysis strategies to enhance procurement operations and supplier effectiveness.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to refine procurement processes and systems.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with organizational goals.
  • Employ advanced analytical methods to predict market trends and guide strategic choices.
  • Advise on procurement best practices and emerging technologies across our Source to Pay framework.
  • Monitor procurement metrics and performance, delivering insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Facilitate supplier enablement by devising strategies that simplify supplier onboarding and management.
  • Develop and maintain e-catalogues to ensure they accurately represent current offerings and pricing.
  • Create sourcing templates to standardize procurement practices throughout the organization.
  • Focus on automation and digitization within the procure-to-pay cycle to enhance efficiency and minimize manual tasks.
  • Utilize advanced analytics to generate dashboards and establish Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) KPIs to track and assess procurement performance.
Qualifications for Success

Minimum Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Strategy, Finance, Business Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in source-to-pay, contract lifecycle management, and spend analytics, including negotiation, compliance, and optimization.

Preferred Qualifications - Education & Experience

  • Advanced degree in Supply Chain or a related field.
  • Experience in supplier enablement and e-catalogue development.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proven ability to drive change and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in creating sourcing templates with a strong emphasis on automation and digitization.
  • Skilled in developing dashboards and defining CPO KPIs.
  • Commitment to sustainability and sustainable sourcing practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
