About the Unit:
Our 18-bed unit specializes in Medical Oncology, providing care for patients undergoing treatment for solid tumors, including surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, and end-of-life care. We are also involved in research and clinical trials. While oncology experience is preferred, we are open to training candidates with a strong interest in cancer care.
Position Description
Unit Charge Nurse - Medical Oncology
Location: Emory University Hospital
Schedule: 7pm-7:30am
Job Responsibilities
The Unit Charge Nurse utilizes acquired knowledge, theory, research, and experience to effectively respond to clinical changes. Responsibilities include:
- Applying the Synergy Model for Care to personalize patient and family care
- Delivering safe, reliable, and effective nursing care independently, utilizing the nursing process
- Evaluating patient responses to planned care and adjusting care plans as necessary
- Incorporating the AACN Synergy Model into daily clinical practice
- Collecting, reporting, analyzing, and providing data as required by physicians and interdisciplinary teams, adhering to organizational standards
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- A minimum of two years of RN experience, including at least two years in the relevant specialty
- A valid, active, unencumbered Nursing license or a temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board
- Preferred certification in the specialty area
- BLS certification required; ACLS may be required in designated departments
