Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our Orthopaedics Clinic team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a key member of our clinical support staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our department.

Responsibilities
  • Collect patient data, obtain medical history, and perform treatment procedures
  • Prepare instruments for sterilization, maintain a sanitary work area, and coordinate appointments
  • Perform basic cashiering duties, collect monies, and balance cash registers
  • Assist with patient care, including preparation for admission, transfer, and discharge
  • Administer medication, document clinical findings, and communicate with providers
Requirements
  • High School or GED Equivalent
  • Program Graduate or 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification
  • CMA, RMA, AMT, AAMA, NRCMA, or CCMA certification
Working Conditions

This is a heavy work position that requires exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people.

May be required to travel to various work sites, and may be required or is required to rotate work shifts.
