Position Overview:
An Equipment Operator I plays a crucial role in the safe and efficient management of basic automated assembly machinery. This position involves ensuring the smooth operation of assembly machines by accurately interpreting machine faults and performing necessary adjustments to stations and fixtures as needed. The operator will engage in straightforward, repetitive tasks associated with machine functionality while maintaining high-quality standards in medical device assembly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain cleanliness of the workspace and equipment.
  • Read and comprehend operational procedures.
  • Safely operate machinery in compliance with company policies.
  • Conduct work order setups in electronic batch records and inventory systems.
  • Utilize machines, jigs, and fixtures to produce quality products at designated run rates.
  • Interpret gauges and dials on equipment as necessary.
  • Diagnose machine faults, resolve issues, and restart operations.
  • Complete production records and work order documentation as required.
  • Inspect and test products to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Weigh, count, package, and label finished goods.
  • Quickly learn to operate basic machinery.
  • Exhibit flexibility in managing multiple simple machines.

Types of Machinery:
Includes press and torque fitments, typically less than 10 stations, requiring minimal operator attention and minimal alignment adjustments.

Qualifications:
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and general computer skills preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand operational procedures.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent assessment.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Travel Requirements:
Minimal travel, typically less than 5% of the time.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
  • Exposure to solvents, glue, or solder.
  • Ability to perform visual inspections with or without magnification tools.
  • Regularly required to communicate effectively.
  • Work in a clean room environment.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods and lift objects weighing up to 20 lbs.
