Job Summary
We are seeking a highly qualified Visiting Assistant Professor of Voice to join our faculty at West Virginia University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching integrated voice and speech classes on the undergraduate and graduate levels, with a focus on contemporary American Theatre and classical/heightened text and story.
Responsibilities
- Teach voice and speech classes to undergraduate and graduate students
- Develop and implement curriculum for voice and speech courses
- Assist with the development and production of theatre and dance productions
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to promote the School of Theatre & Dance
- Participate in departmental and university service
Qualifications
- Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Theatre or related field
- 1-3 years of teaching experience on the college/university level
- Professional acting and/or directing experience in respected venues
- Training and/or certification in a recognized voice pedagogy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Dedication to teaching and commitment to student success
About the School of Theatre & Dance
The School of Theatre & Dance is a NAST-accredited and URTA member training program with an enrollment of approximately 200 undergraduate and graduate students. We offer MFA degrees in acting, design & technology, and technical direction; BFA degrees in acting, musical theatre, and design & technology; a BA degree in dance and a BA in theatre studies, and minors in theatre, dance, and technical production.
