- Maintain a positive atmosphere in the store by ensuring exceptional customer service is upheld by all team members.
- Support the General Manager in various operational aspects of the store.
- Assist in supervising, training, and developing store and lumber yard personnel in accordance with company policies.
- Conduct regular inspections of the store and yard to identify and rectify any issues.
- Ensure the store is clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing for customers.
- Manage inventory levels to optimize stock turnover and profitability while ensuring sufficient stock availability.
- Oversee the unloading of freight and stocking of shelves.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as ordering stock, maintaining records, and analyzing reports.
- Support loss prevention initiatives in collaboration with the General Manager.
- Work alongside the merchandising team to maintain promotional and permanent displays.
- Oversee assigned departments to ensure operational efficiency.
- Uphold safety standards and facilitate safety training for staff.
- Assume managerial duties in the absence of the General Manager.
- Ensure a safe working environment by being aware of surroundings and reporting safety concerns.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3 years of retail experience, preferably in the hardware or lumber sector.
- Experience in supervising staff is advantageous.
- Management experience is a plus.
