Position Overview

The Store Operations Leader is accountable for delivering outstanding customer service while prioritizing the well-being of our team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Embrace and promote the company culture by valuing team members as the highest priority.
  • Welcome and assist customers in a friendly and approachable manner, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Maintain a positive atmosphere in the store by ensuring exceptional customer service is upheld by all team members.
  • Support the General Manager in various operational aspects of the store.
  • Assist in supervising, training, and developing store and lumber yard personnel in accordance with company policies.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the store and yard to identify and rectify any issues.
  • Ensure the store is clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing for customers.
  • Manage inventory levels to optimize stock turnover and profitability while ensuring sufficient stock availability.
  • Oversee the unloading of freight and stocking of shelves.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as ordering stock, maintaining records, and analyzing reports.
  • Support loss prevention initiatives in collaboration with the General Manager.
  • Work alongside the merchandising team to maintain promotional and permanent displays.
  • Oversee assigned departments to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Uphold safety standards and facilitate safety training for staff.
  • Assume managerial duties in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by being aware of surroundings and reporting safety concerns.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of retail experience, preferably in the hardware or lumber sector.
  • Experience in supervising staff is advantageous.
  • Management experience is a plus.
