The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering clinical instruction, assessing student performance, and documenting course-related activities.
Key Responsibilities- Clinical Instruction: Deliver effective clinical instruction utilizing approved course materials and teaching methods.
- Student Assessment: Assess student performance during the assigned course and document all course-related activities.
- Curriculum Development: Develop teaching methods and strategies to engage students in learning and promote clinical judgment skills in the clinical setting.
- Program Evaluation: Evaluate student's clinical competency using the clinical judgment model and theoretical principles.
- Professional Development: Maintain current knowledge in the performance and nursing duties assigned.
- Communication: Lead as a clinical resource, managing pre- and post-conferences, and engaging students to reflect on their clinical experiences.
- Student Success: Promote student success by showing flexibility in style and work schedule, as well as exhibiting a passion for teaching and engaging students in the learning process.
- Education: Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience: Four (4) years of bedside or clinical nursing experience within the past five (5) years.
- Licensure: Current and active California license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) required.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS)/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Card.
- Skills: Previous work experience in a Medical-Surgical setting, hospitals, and/or skilled nursing facilities. Knowledge of Microsoft: Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Standard Office/Classroom/Lab or Clinical Setting: Typically, duties are performed in an office/classroom/Lab/clinical setting environment while sitting at a desk or computer workstation.
- Physical Demands: The incumbent regularly sits for extended periods. Physical ability to perform the duties as assigned to the program or department.
