Job Summary

Bastion Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Project Risk Management Specialist to support the JETS II contract in Houston, Texas. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the risk management process throughout the lifecycle of the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and Maintain Risk Management Process: Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management process to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with the project.
  • Ensure Effective Risk Mitigation: Work closely with the NASA LTV management team, EVA & Human Surface Mobility Program (EHP), and other stakeholders to ensure effective horizontal and vertical integration of risk mitigation activities.
  • Provide Risk Recommendations: Provide recommendations for approval, acceptance, closure, and escalation of top risks to the Associate Program Manager as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with NASA international partners, commercial partner teams, and other stakeholders to identify, document, and report on the risks associated with project efforts.
  • Facilitate Risk Management: Facilitate the transfer of LTV-identified risks to the appropriate organization and provide training to risk owners and integrators on how to access, view, create, edit, and update risks in the project and program risk database tools.
  • Collect and Report Risk Metrics: Collect and report risk metrics to LTV Management and assist risk owners and LTV management in implementing risk decision-making and Continuous Risk Management (CRM) practices into the LTV's day-to-day activities.
  • Manage Risk Escalation: Manage the escalation of risks from Concerns and Watch Items to Risks, respectively, for action as appropriate.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Risk Systems: Be cognizant of Project, Program, and Center risk Systems and their functions.
  • Ensure Closure and Acceptance: Ensure completeness of closure and acceptance rationale.
  • Support Risk Submitters: Assist risk submitters to create risks and with scoring (assist with the tool).
  • Interface with Stakeholders: Interface frequently with inter-organizational disciplines, NASA System Managers, operational customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain Professional Relationships: Maintain a professional relationship with the NASA customer and other NASA support contractors.
Requirements
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status: This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status due to the sensitivity of customer-related information.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering: Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 10+ Years of Experience: Must have 10+ years of recent and related experience.
  • Technical Risk Management Experience: Demonstrated success with the technical risk management aspect of project management.
  • Flight Hardware Experience: Knowledge of and previous experience in delivering flight hardware at the project or program level.
  • Self-Motivated and Team Player: Self-motivated, team player and adaptable to a dynamic environment and the ability to complete all assignments as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Project Management Experience: Project management or systems engineering experience.
  • SharePoint Experience: SharePoint experience.
  • Familiarity with JSC Organizations: Familiar with JSC Organizations, processes, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Tools and Processes: Knowledge of/experience with the following tools/processes/methodologies:

Work Location
  • On-Site Position: This position is located on-site.
  • 9/80 Schedule: This position offers a 9/80 schedule, every other Friday off.
  • Travel Requirements: This position may require some travel.
Background Investigations Required

Drug and Alcohol Screening Required
