Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in Social Work, Human Services, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment proficiently.
  • Competence in word processing and communication platforms.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for engaging respectfully with individuals from various backgrounds.
  • Basic mathematical proficiency and skills in prorating.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and interviewing capabilities.
  • Able to perform well under pressure.
  • Previous experience in customer service is advantageous.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional and compassionate representation of the Wayne Township Trustee Office while delivering social services.
  • Stay informed about the Eligibility Standards of the Wayne Township Trustee Office and relevant Indiana Code.
  • Conduct interviews with clients to assess their eligibility for assistance based on established standards.
  • Ensure the responsible use of Township resources.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality regarding client information.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with utility companies, faith-based organizations, and social service agencies.
  • Perform home visits for clients who are unable to travel.
