Position Summary:

The Vice President of Regional Operations will oversee the operational and financial performance of designated regions, ensuring that all objectives are met or surpassed. This role is pivotal in guiding a team of Regional Directors and Managers, while also maintaining direct communication with Senior Leadership and stakeholders to ensure that each property achieves its financial targets and upholds high standards of resident satisfaction and property maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership to Regional Directors and Managers, focusing on financial outcomes, operational efficiency, and strategic initiatives across the assigned portfolio.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the management team to establish and communicate actionable plans aimed at meeting or exceeding financial and operational goals.
  • Perform comprehensive financial reviews on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for each property, sharing insights with Senior Leadership and stakeholders.
  • Engage in acquisition processes and due diligence, contributing to underwriting, budgeting, and business planning to ensure successful transactions.
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership and corporate teams to implement and refine property management systems and processes to support organizational growth.
  • Regularly visit properties to assess operational performance and physical conditions, approving necessary repairs and recommending capital improvements.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of market trends and performance metrics within the assigned regions.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process for properties, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance performance, including revenue growth and cost reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, Fair Housing regulations, and all applicable laws.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in multifamily, market-rate, or affordable housing.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in a Regional Manager capacity across multiple markets.
  • Strong business acumen with a comprehensive understanding of real estate financial principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software; familiarity with MRI and LRO is preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with a focus on team development and recruitment.
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration to enhance property management processes.
  • Thorough knowledge of Landlord/Tenant laws and regulations.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Industry-related certifications are a plus.
