Responsibilities

  • Bag groceries and assist customers with their purchases
  • Collect cash, check, or charge payments from customers and make change as needed
  • Count money in the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift
  • Follow procedures for operating the cash register and handling customer transactions
  • Gather and stock grocery carts in a neat and orderly manner
  • Be knowledgeable about Fresh Foods and Home & Garden pricing procedures
  • Promote special store events and sales
  • Record daily transaction amounts and balance the cash drawer
  • Review sales fliers weekly to stay informed about advertised specials

Requirements

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as adding and subtracting multiple-digit numbers and units of weight and/or American currency
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Must be at least 16 years old
