We are seeking a BPO Healthcare & Insurance Operations Senior Specialist to join our team in the United States.

Position Title: BPO Healthcare & Insurance Operations Senior Specialist (Senior Underwriter)

This role offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance with employer contributions, flexible spending or health savings accounts, life and AD&D insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance programs, participation in a 401k plan with company matching, and additional voluntary or legally mandated benefits.

Compensation is set at $68,000 annually. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM CST, with schedules subject to change based on business requirements.

Important Note: Candidates must reside in the continental USA for this remote position and be willing to travel quarterly.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in underwriting, reviewing medical records, and handling insurance policy documentation, specifically in life insurance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and underwriting systems for at least 3 years.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; Post Secondary education preferred.
  • Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) certification is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As a Senior Underwriter, you will conduct precise and timely risk assessments and evaluations of life insurance applications, renewals, or cancellations, adhering to the company's underwriting policies and guidelines.
  • Efficiently operate in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Manage complex cases and large face amounts while collaborating with field personnel and supporting junior underwriters.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to agents and agencies.
  • Provide secondary reviews and approvals for less experienced underwriters.
  • Conduct underwriting audits as necessary.
  • Engage in underwriting-related projects as assigned.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships within the organization.
  • Stay informed about evolving practices and regulations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing insights on departmental procedures and practices.
  • Mentor less experienced underwriters, demonstrating strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills.

New hires must possess a working device (such as a smartphone or tablet) for the 2-Factor Authentication process.

*** All new employees are required to successfully complete our Call Center training classes and demonstrate proficiency in the material.

Successful candidates must pass a background check, including education and employment verification.
