Transportation Specialist

Job Summary:
This position involves transporting residents to and from scheduled activities and appointments at Capital Manor. The ideal candidate will have a valid Oregon Commercial Driver's license (CDL) and a good driving record.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pick up and deliver residents to all scheduled activities and appointments where transportation is needed.
- Complete a safety and vehicle check of the applicable vehicle before transporting residents.
- Accurately record vehicle mileage and resident attendance for all scheduled transportation.
- Assist all passengers on and off the vehicle.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle, inside and out.
- Notify the supervisor of necessary repairs and vehicle malfunctions.
- Immediately notify the supervisor of resident concerns, problems, or incidents.
- Makes miscellaneous runs for administration errands as necessary.
- Maintain all tools, equipment, and supplies in proper condition.
- Accomplish all work in the order of priority set by the supervisor.
- Attend in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School education required.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
- Must possess a valid Oregon Commercial Driver's license (CDL).
- Must have a good driving record.
- Must be able to maintain a courteous, friendly, and helpful attitude with residents at all times.
- Must be able to interpret and follow map directions.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to sit in a vehicle for up to six (6) hours per day; must be able to stoop, bend, stretch, and squat to load and unload cargo areas.
Must have the ability to perform routine preventive maintenance on vehicles according to schedule. Keep vehicles clean. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds for handling luggage and resident groceries. May be exposed to the elements (rain, cold, heat) for short periods of time. Must have good driving skills in handling vehicles on wet and/or slippery roads.
