About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Anesthesia Care Specialist to join our team at Parkland Health and Hospital System. As an Advanced Anesthesia Care Specialist, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our anesthesia department.

Job Summary

The Advanced Anesthesia Care Specialist is responsible for administering anesthesia and providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical procedures. This involves conducting pre-anesthetic patient assessments, formulating and implementing individualized anesthetic care plans, and collaborating with attending anesthesiologists to ensure quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer anesthesia and provide post-anesthetic care to patients.
  • Conduct thorough pre-anesthetic patient assessments to identify potential risks and develop individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate with attending anesthesiologists to facilitate high-quality patient care and optimize treatment outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care activities, including anesthesia administration, vital signs, and any adverse reactions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in anesthesia care and professional standards to ensure continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements

To be successful as an Advanced Anesthesia Care Specialist at Parkland Health and Hospital System, you must have a strong foundation in nursing anesthesia, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Education/Experience:

- Must be a graduate of a Nurse Anesthesia Program accredited by the Council of Nurse Anesthesia (COA) or its predecessor.

Certification/Registration/Licensure:

- Must have current, valid RN license or valid Compact RN license.

- Must have a current license or temporary authorization (interim approval not to exceed 120 days from date of issuance) as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with authorization to practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) by the Texas Board of Nursing.

Skills and Abilities:

- Provides care to assigned patient population in accordance with the current State of Texas Nurse Practice Act, established protocols, multidisciplinary plan of care, and clinical area specific standards.

- Must be able to apply good decision making in anesthetic patient care, demonstrate ethical norms of practice, and respect and maintain patient's rights.

Educational Requirements

This position requires a Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution. Additionally, candidates must possess certification as a CRNA from the National Board of Certification & Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).

Estimated Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position ranges between $175,000 - $225,000 depending on experience.
