We are currently seeking a Millwork Freight Specialist. Below are the responsibilities and qualifications required for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the scheduling of inbound and outbound deliveries of products and orders to customers using either contract or company drivers.
- Work closely with location personnel to arrange trucking solutions for all freight requirements.
- Utilize the RFN system to review routes, assign route numbers, and manage pick ticket information for trucks and will calls.
- Oversee the staging and storage of all door materials, slabs, jambs, glass, and other related items.
- Promote daily safety awareness and ensure compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations.
- Develop efficient delivery schedules, effectively utilizing both company trucks and contract drivers.
- Ensure timely submission of DOT reports and maintain Driver Services records.
- Manage profiles and freight contracts, including motor carrier profiles, shipping rates, and driving logs, updating the Agility system as necessary.
- Monitor compliance with hours of service regulations and communicate with Truck Drivers as needed through the PeopleNet system.
- May provide training to driving associates.
- Exhibit a strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous improvement in processes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements: High School Diploma, GED, or two years of equivalent work experience. The position primarily involves an office environment with minimal physical exertion and frequent periods of sitting.
Preferred Qualifications: Typically three to five years of experience in a related field. Technical certification or an associate's degree may be required. Familiarity with DOT regulations and truck driver safety is advantageous. Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment are essential. Proficiency in computer software applications relevant to job responsibilities is required. Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, are necessary.
