  • Evaluate and underwrite Conventional and Jumbo Loans, adhering to the guidelines set forth by the Director of Operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all agency standards and investor requirements during the underwriting process.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of financial documents, including income verification, asset evaluation, title checks, appraisals, and loan applications.
  • Analyze all risk factors associated with the loan to confirm adherence to established guidelines.
  • Provide updates to management regarding protocol adherence and any necessary file escalations.
  • Verify the accuracy of all incoming loan documentation and address any discrepancies.
  • Confirm that all necessary tax, title, insurance, and closing documents are properly organized.
  • Engage effectively with borrowers, loan processors, loan officers, and other underwriting personnel.
  • Review appraisals to ensure accuracy and confirm that property values align with purchase prices or refinance values.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of lender, agency, and investor guidelines at all times.
  • Ensure all loan factors comply with specific loan requirements.
  • Update the loan origination system with relevant underwriting dates as necessary.
  • Submit mortgage loans for approval through automated underwriting systems, following investor guidelines.
  • Ensure all final figures and information are accurately reflected in the file and system before granting clearance to close.
  • Verify compliance of the file prior to any closing requests.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the employer.
