Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at New Story School. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating and implementing individualized education plans for our students with special needs. Your expertise and passion for education will help our students reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting your approach as needed
Collaborate with support staff, including paraprofessionals and parents, to build a supportive learning environment
Advocate for students with disabilities, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations
Foster a positive classroom environment where every student feels engaged and can succeed

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in special education or education
Valid teaching certification in Special Education
Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with special needs
