About the Role:
As a Direct Patient Care Support Specialist at West Virginia University Health System, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our nursing units. With your skills and experience, you will make a significant difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, prioritizing tasks, and managing multiple responsibilities. You will assist with patient care tasks, such as feeding, bathing, and vital signs monitoring, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assists with patient care tasks, such as feeding, bathing, and vital signs monitoring
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment, adhering to infection control policies and procedures
  • Prioritizes tasks and manages multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Certification/License: Ability to maintain/update computer competencies as required for the position
Experience: One year recent experience in a clinical setting providing direct patient care or completion of/or current enrollment in a health-related program that has provided the ability to perform nursing care assistant skills

Ability to lift and/or carry up to/over 50 pounds is necessary.

Estimated Salary Range: $45,000 - $60,000 per annum
