Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer II to join our team at NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island. As a Security Officer II, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff. This is a critical role that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol hospital buildings and grounds to prevent and respond to security incidents.
  • Monitor and operate security systems, including alarms, CCTV, and access control.
  • Provide security escorts and respond to emergencies, including fires and medical emergencies.
  • Investigate reported losses and suspicious situations, and prepare incident reports.
  • Assist other departments in controlling visitor traffic and maintaining hospital security policies.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of law enforcement experience or equivalent.
  • Current and valid NYS Security Guard License.
  • Current and valid NYS Driver's License.
  • Current and valid CPR and AED certification.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Some college education.
  • 1-2 years of safety or security experience in a hospital or healthcare environment.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office.
