Job Summary

Davis Archway, a leading healthcare provider, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will be responsible for providing counseling services to individuals and groups affected by substance abuse disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' substance abuse history, mental health status, and treatment needs.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, setting achievable goals for recovery and rehabilitation.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques.
  • Monitor clients' progress in treatment, regularly reassessing their needs and modifying treatment plans as necessary.
  • Provide education and support to clients' families, helping them understand the dynamics of addiction and the recovery process.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, psychiatrists, and social workers, to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive treatment for clients.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of client assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
  • Certification or State licensure as a Substance Abuse Counselor (LPC, LCSW, LCADC, etc.) preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in the field of substance abuse counseling, preferably in a clinical setting.
  • Strong understanding of addiction theory, counseling techniques, and treatment modalities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships with clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines governing the practice of substance abuse counseling.
