Key Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Sous Chef, you will assist in the preparation of food within your designated kitchen area, ensuring a safe and engaging environment where quality and service excellence are paramount.
Essential Duties:
- Adhere to all Gaming Commission Regulations and departmental policies.
- Manage your section effectively, contributing to the overall kitchen production.
- Ensure all menu items and food produced meet the established standards.
- Recreate recipes and techniques as directed by management.
- Participate in on-the-job training sessions for kitchen staff.
- Handle daily preparation of food requirements and specials for your section.
- Communicate with chefs to ensure proper inventory for upcoming shifts.
- Maintain a fast, friendly, and fresh service standard.
- Uphold established standards for food preparation, storage, sanitation, and hygiene.
- Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance within kitchen areas.
- Promote responsible gaming and alcohol service by reporting concerns to management.
- Demonstrate commitment to the company’s values of Communication, Integrity, Fun, Respect, Accountability, Passion, and Dedication.
- Report any illegal activities or ethics violations promptly.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and internal policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must possess strong culinary skills, including grilling, sautéing, sauce preparation, butchering, and fish fabrication. A culinary degree and two years of experience in a high-caliber establishment are required, with steakhouse experience preferred.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to casino-related environmental factors, including secondhand smoke and noise.
- Frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds are required.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English regarding job duties.
