Job Title: RN Unit Manager

At Social Row Transitional Care, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced RN Unit Manager to join our team. As a key member of our nursing department, you will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day activities of our facility and ensuring that the highest level of quality care is maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Director of Nursing in directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing department, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Director of Nursing concerning the operations of the nursing department.
  • Ensure that all nursing personnel comply with the written policies and procedures established by the facility.
  • Participate in the development, maintenance, and implementation of the facility's QA/QI, infection control, and safety programs.
  • Participate in surveys made by authorized government agencies.
  • Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required, including physician orders.
  • Complete accident and incident reports, including first report of injury and supervisor's investigation.
  • Assist in maintaining daily census by submitting 24-hour report as required.
  • Notify the DON, ADON, of all drug and narcotic discrepancies.
  • Inform the DON when assigned personnel fail to report for work.
Requirements:
  • Must possess a nursing degree from an accredited college, university, or nursing school.
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a RN.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
  • Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people with the facility.
