About the Job

The Maintenance Mechanic II is a seasoned repair professional with expertise in RDC systems and building components. This position requires specialized knowledge and complex repair capabilities in two areas: conveyors, rolling stock, or building. Additionally, the individual must have general knowledge and basic repair skills in the other area. In all cases, the Maintenance Mechanic II must possess sufficient electrical and mechanical knowledge to safely and independently repair equipment in the RDC.

Responsibilities
  • Recognize and diagnose equipment issues, determine the type of repair needed, prioritize and plan the work, obtain or order the appropriate spare parts, and execute the repair.
  • Integrate trade skills, classroom knowledge, and systems experience to identify and resolve equipment problems.
  • Mentor junior maintenance staff and seek assistance from the Maintenance Coach when necessary.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Work a set schedule that may be changed/modified by management based on the needs of the facility.
  • Be available to work morning, afternoon, nights, or weekends depending upon assigned shift and overtime based on the needs of the facility.
  • Provide on-call support as required.
  • Work in a distribution/warehouse environment with physical and environmental aspects typically associated with such an environment.
  • Use tools and complete maintenance-related tasks that require fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Work safely with corrosive materials and at heights of 20+ feet.
  • Lift up to 70 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds.
Qualifications

You must possess:

  • A valid state driver's license.
  • 4 years of maintenance experience.
  • 2 years of experience in each of your two specialty areas.
  • Experience repairing and providing technical training in standard electrical/electronic voltages (51-599) volt systems and above.
  • Certification to perform work at a Senior Mechanic level if required by local regulations.
  • A proven record of complying with safety requirements.
  • The ability to see objects and discriminate color.
Preferred Qualifications

We prefer candidates with:

  • A high school diploma or technical school graduate.
  • Experience and/or certification with welding and fabrication.
  • Certification for electrical work and/or high voltage work.
  • Experience operating various maintenance and operations vehicles and equipment.
  • A demonstrated track record of addressing equipment/system irregularities in your specialty area, consequently avoiding or reducing equipment/system failures and downtime.
  • Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and other technical drawings.
Compensation

This role offers a competitive salary range of $29.65 - $36.40 per hour. Your starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
