We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Human Resources Manager to join our team at Graham Packaging Company. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the human resources function at our manufacturing plant, ensuring that all HR-related activities are carried out in a timely and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities- Recruitment and Selection: Responsible for the recruitment, selection, and retention of plant employees, partnering with Plant Leadership to maintain staffing levels to budget.
- Payroll and Attendance: Processes the plant weekly payroll and administers the attendance policy, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Employee Relations: Interprets and applies company policies, benefits, practices, procedures, programs, and applicable laws, providing guidance and coaching to Plant Leadership on employee-related issues.
- Worker Compensation: Responsible for the investigation and administration of worker compensation claims, record keeping, and documentation, working with Corporate EH&S on worker's compensation case management.
- Training and Development: Analyzes training needs to design employee and leadership training and development, including safety programs, and plans and coordinates new employee onboarding to foster a positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
- Benefits and Compensation: Maintains records and compiles reports concerning personnel-related data, such as hires, turnover, employee programs, performance appraisals, wage progression, and absenteeism rates.
- Employee Engagement: Plans and organizes company events, such as luncheons, picnics, recognition, and serves as the liaison between management and employees, handling questions and assisting in the resolution of employee-related issues.
- Safety and Compliance: Acts as the Plant Safety Coordinator, responsible for managing all plant safety programs and training, and maintains the first aid room, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- A Bachelor's Degree and/or related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- A minimum of 5 years Human Resources Manager experience in manufacturing preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
